Borrowing Policy for WSU Faculty, Staff, Graduate
Students, Medical Residents, Emeritus Faculty and Retired
Staff
Requirements for Borrowing
Borrowers must be current employees, students, emeritus
faculty or retired staff of Wright State University.
- A valid Wright State University Wright One card is the
preferred method of identification.
- Lost Wright One
cards must be replaced by the Wright One Card Center, but
should be reported to the library to prevent unauthorized
use.
- The University Libraries will accept a driver's
license for identification if the information on the license
can be verified by a current library record.
- A Wright
One card is required to borrow materials in person from
other OhioLINK libraries or WSU affiliated libraries. A
Wright One card is also required to check out or purchase
licensed software.
Registration
Library records are automatically added and/or updated quarterly. If you are new to the university, library staff will manually add a record for you, using your ID card. Faculty who are also on staff at one of the affiliated hospitals may use either their WSU ID or the hospital library card.
Limits on Borrowing
Borrowing is normally limited to a total of two hundred (200) items, including up to ten (10) audiovisual items. Exceptions may be authorized by the Head of Information Delivery Services. Borrowers may also place requests on up to 100 items.
Loan Periods
- Circulating books may be borrowed for seventy-seven (77) days unless recalled for course reserves.
- Audiovisual materials are due in fourteen (14) days.
- OhioLINK books are due in 21 days.
- OhioLINK audiovisuals are due in 7 days.
- Most reserve materials have hourly loan periods.
Renewing and Account Information
- Most materials (if less than 14 days overdue) may be renewed two (2) times before they must be returned to the library to be checked in, but the item may then be immediately checked out again if there are no outstanding requests.
- OhioLINK books may be renewed up to four (4) times if not needed at the owning institution.
- Most audiovisual materials may be renewed one time if not needed by another user.
- Account information including online renewals, books checked out, requested items and fines owed are available through the Libraries' website: http://www.libraries.wright.edu
Returning
Books may be returned to any university library or affiliated hospital library location. Although an outside book drop is available at the Dunbar and Fordham Libraries, non-book materials should be returned at the appropriate circulation desk.
You may also request a receipt when paying a fine. Not only does this verify what has been paid, but it provides a brief bibliography for future reference.
