August 14, 1861 – Letter: Colonel A. Sanders Piatt, 34th Regiment, OVIUSA to Capt Robert Patterson from Cincinnati, Ohio
Dear Sir: We have our Zouave regiment nearly full and are today having several companies mustered in. We would like very much indeed to have you with us and hope sincerely that such will be the case.
Please write immediately upon the receipt of this and inform us how many men you have – how soon you can have a full company, and when you will be ready to go into camp.
Hoping to hear from you at the earliest possible moment.
I am your Sincerely
A. Sanders Piatt, Colonel, 34th Reg. O.V.U.S.A.
