New eBook content for ebrary – nearly 300 AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) titles to be available very soon. More from the press release:
ebrary®, a ProQuest business and leading provider of e-books and research technology, today announced that it has partnered with AIAA, the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession. Under terms of the agreement, nearly 300 AIAA e-books will be available on the ebrary platform to libraries throughout the world, under a variety of acquisition models.
“ebrary offers AIAA an enormous opportunity to expand our e-book sales through their established global customer base, expansive direct sales team, and partnerships with resellers and book vendors such as YBP Library Services,” said Rodger Williams, managing director, Technical Publications. “By offering our content to libraries under a number of flexible business models, we can help them acquire the content that researchers need, in a manner that meets their budget requirements.”
“As aerospace is a very complex, progressive, and wide reaching industry, it is critical to provide engineering students and employees with access to trusted information on current research and new technologies as well as background on relevant topics,” said Leslie Lees, ebrary’s Vice President of Content Development. “AIAA is the heart of aerospace and we are thrilled to offer their immensely valuable e-books to libraries throughout the world.”
The vast majority of the nearly 300 AIAA titles will be available in Academic Complete™, ebrary’s flagship subscription e-book database, which offers simultaneous multi-user access, downloads and continued growth at no extra cost. AIAA titles will also be added to ebrary’s Corporate Aerospace Collection, and all of the e-books will be available for purchase through ebrary’s perpetual archive and patron driven acquisition models directly through ebrary or via leading book vendors including YBP.
The new AIAA titles will include the following best sellers:
- Out of This World: The New Field of Space Architecture, by A Scott Howe (2009)
- Fundamentals of Kalman Filtering: A Practical Approach, Second Edition, by Paul Zarchan (2005)
- Introduction to Aircraft Flight Mechanics, by Thomas R. Yechout (2003)
