2800 Harvard University Press titles will be re-released as e-ditions with De Gruyter beginning in January, 2014. Libraries can choose e or p versions of the titles. 200 titles are ready and available at this time with the remainder slated for full release by the end of 2013 (updated information). Press release from De Gruyter: Berlin, 28 November 2012 – The idea behind Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA) is simple: to offer users access to all digital content, but only charge for actual use. Beginning in 2013, two of De Gruyter’s publishing partners – Harvard University Press, and Böhlau Publishers – will offer their content globally through De Gruyter Online as part of the PDA distribution model. By participating in PDA distribution, these publishing houses will be able to provide customers with access to a greatly expanded range of academic content. DeGruyter and Harvard University Press just announced a new collaboration. DeGruyter will serve as a sales partner for HUP’s eBook collection, both front and backlist. The titles will be available on DeGruyter’s recently released interface which integrates book, journal, and databank content. A JSTOR Press Release: Four prominent academic publishers in the United States announced plans today to bring their scholarly books online at JSTOR, one of the most well-known and widely used scholarly research sites. This is the second wave of presses to join the Books at JSTOR initiative. The initial group included Chicago, Minnesota, North Carolina, Princeton, and Yale University Presses.
