OverDrive ebooks now available with Kindle FreeTime

OverDrive announced today that eBooks from more than 20,000 schools and libraries in its U.S. network are available to be used with Amazon’s Kindle FreeTime. OverDrive Media Stations available to all libraries

overdrivemediastation  OverDrive announced today the availability of the media stations to all libraries.  The picture here was taken at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago earlier this year.  OverDrive has been piloting the media stations at several libraries and now the service is available to all libraries.  See the press release below for more info.

Cleveland, Ohio, November 12— OverDrive announced today that its “inside the library” eBook, audiobook, music and video sampling and checkout terminal, OverDrive Media Station, is now broadly available. Launched as a pilot program earlier this year with 50 public library systems in five countries, the in-library eBook kiosks enable readers to browse eBooks, audiobooks and other media on a touchscreen monitor in libraries or any location where libraries want to introduce readers to their eBook catalog. OverDrive digital library website for schools updated with new interface

When teachers, students and parents visit their school’s OverDrive-powered digital library website, they will find a fully-updated user interface providing a more informative, user-friendly experience. New features include enhanced metadata, robust search tools, filters and improved title detail pages and menus to make finding a title easier. Users are now able to search for titles based on standardized reading level information such as Lexile, ATOS and Accelerated Reader scores.
