ProQuest expands History Vault, three new modules

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 23, 2015 – ProQuest aims to improve outcomes of research on 20th century events and the people who made them happen by expanding its visionary ProQuest® History Vault collection of digitized primary sources. Three new modules provide online access to hard-to-find original documents chronicling the Black Freedom Struggle in the 20th Century (Federal Government Records supplement); the New Deal and World War II (President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Office Files and Records of Federal Agencies); and critical intelligence efforts during wartime from the Office of Strategic Services (OSS-State Department Intelligence and Research Reports, 1941-1961). ProQuest and National Security Archive team on CIA Covert Operations II,now on the ProQuest platform

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 18, 2015 — As Americans once again scrutinize elements of the Patriot Act, the National Security Archive and its publishing partner ProQuest are providing new avenues for research on government spying. The Digital National Security Archive (DNSA) has expanded to include CIA Covert Operations II: The Year of Intelligence, 1975, a collection of 1,000 declassified documents that reveal the inner-workings of America’s spy agencies during a season of intense public inquiry. With this collection, DNSA becomes available on the ProQuest platform, enabling all DNSA documents to be cross-searched with the diverse content that students and faculty require to fully explore their area of research, such as newspaper archives, working papers, journal articles, ebooks, and other unique primary sources.

ProQuest Completes Acquisition of Coutts Information Services and MyiLibrary

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 1, 2015 — ProQuest has completed the acquisition of Coutts Information Services and MyiLibrary from Ingram Content Group. ProQuest is beginning to integrate assets such as Coutts’ expertise in collection development, broad catalog of print and digital titles, and platforms that include not only MyiLibrary but OASIS as well. ProQuest to Acquire Coutts Information Services and MyiLibrary from Ingram Content Group

Libraries will gain widest selection of titles, integrated print and ebook systems, plus continued access to Ingram’s fast print fulfillment and delivery

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 30, 2015 — ProQuest has signed an agreement to acquire Coutts Information Services from Ingram Content Group, adding Coutts’ renowned expertise in collection development, broad catalog of print and digital titles, and platforms MyiLibrary and OASIS to ProQuest’s vast selection of ebooks and innovative technology framework. The move paves the way to combine Coutts’ acquisitions strengths with ProQuest’s inventive digital tools to deliver a superior end-to-end workflow across print and electronic. Ingram will play a continuing role in print fulfillment in North America, supporting ProQuest with its extensive print inventory, fast on-demand print capabilities and delivery network. The acquisition is expected to close within weeks.

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 8, 2015 – ProQuest (through its affiliate Bowker) has acquired Palo Alto-based SIPX, creator of a unique digital course materials solution that addresses a variety of copyright and costs concerns for universities. ProQuest and Google collaborate with full text indexing

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 24, 2015 – ProQuest will enable the full text of its scholarly journal content to be indexed in Google Scholar, improving research outcomes. Work is underway and the company anticipates that by the third-quarter of 2015, users starting their research in Google Scholar will be able to access scholarly content via ProQuest.
