Faculty Support
Course-Related Library Instruction
- Faculty can request class presentations, demonstrations, or hands-on training sessions by librarians.
- Training facilities are available in the library.
- Librarians will also travel to your classroom, a campus lab, or the location of your choice.
- Topics include a Libraries’ Web site overview, an orientation to the Libraries’ collections, or training on specific databases.
- 5-minute visits are another popular alternative. A librarian can make a brief visit to your classroom to introduce and encourage the use of library services.
- “Lab” sessions can be set up to provide group instruction or support for assignments outside of class time. Sessions can be held in the library or elsewhere on campus.
- Librarians can prepare topical research guides to support specific classes. Research guides are accessible through the electronic course reserves system.
- Read the complete full text of the Chronicle online from your home or office.
