The archive provides free searches for seven current years of the newspaper. Full article access requires a personal subscription.

LexisNexis Academic Universe
This resource contains full length stories of most Dayton Daily News articles. Use it to find articles dated January 1994 or afterward. The file is updated every 24 hours.

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Choose LexisNexis Academic Universe
  2. Select "Sources"
  3. Type in Dayton Daily News (or any newspaper title)
  4. Click on "Find Title"
  5. Choose "Search this Title" under the newspaper's name
  6. You are now taken to the search screen and the newspaper you have chosen is listed in the publication name
  7. Type in your keywords
  8. Click on "Search"

This index contains references to local interest new stories. Coverage includes 1985 to 1997. This index will help you identify the date of the article. After you know the date, use LexisNexis to find articles after 1994 or the microfilm edition of the paper for older articles.
