An alternate Dayton newspaper underwent several name changes. It has been known as the Dayton Daily Journal, the Dayton Journal, the Dayton Herald and Journal Herald, and lastly the Dayton Journal Herald.
A printed index is available for the Dayton Journal for the years 1934 to 1938. The index is housed in the Abstracts and Index collection at AI 21 .D36. Copies of the Dayton Journal Herald are available in microfilm for the period 1948 to 1986. Another source of Dayton news is the Ohio Historical Newspapers on Mircrofilm.
