How do I evaluate information sources?

Why do I need to evaluate print and electronic information sources?

Remember, both print and Internet sources contain biases or particular points of view. That means that they often represent only one side of a position or topic depending on the purpose of the source. It is important to identify the purpose and the bias in order to analyze the usefulness and reliability of a source.

Criteria that should be considered in deciding the quality/reliability of an information source are similar regardless of whether the source is in print or electronic format.
