How do I read Library of Congress call numbers?

What does the call number mean?

The Library of Congress Classification System arranges materials by subjects. The first sections of the call number correspond to the book's subject. The letter-and-decimal section of the call number usually represent the author's name or the book's title. The last section of the call number is the date of publication.
