Ask yourself the following questions:
Is timeliness or currency an issue?
Topics in science and technology fields often require that you use the most recent
publications because the state of knowledge in those fields changes quickly.
Other disciplines, such as the arts, humanities, and social sciences
do not necessarily require that you use the most current publications.
However, there may be exceptions to these broad guidelines. You should
consider each of your assignments individually to determine whether
the topic requires the use of current publications.
