How do I read SuDocs call numbers?

How do I find these numbers on the shelves?

1. Treat each part of the classification number as a whole number, not as a decimal.
Example: T 4.2:61 would come before T 4.19:61.
2.Treat a date designating a revision as a modifier, not as a full- fledged part of the book number.
Example: CS 3.2:R 5/975 would come before CS 3.2:R 5/2..
3.Treat the class stem, that is the part up to the colon, as one unit.
Example: HE 2.3:6 would come before HE 2.3/5:6..
4.When a letter and number occupy the same relative position, the letter appears first.
Example: A 1.107:P 73 would come before A 1.107:24-35.
EXCEPTION: The designations S.hrg. and S.prt. (abbreviations for Senate Hearing and Senate Print), that appear only in the Y 4's, appear after any other designation in that class.
5.When a document number includes a span of numbers or dates, it appears after a document number including only the last number in the span.
Example: A 15.7:975 would come before A 15.7:971-75..
6. Ohio documents are shelved by a similar call number arrangement. It is important to remember, however, that Ohio documents are shelved in a separate area of the government documents collection. Note the SuDoc numbers in the "O" area. All Ohio documents are classified first by the letter "O" then followed by department or agency letter(s).

Here are some examples of SuDocs number order.
These SuDocs numbers are in descending order:

A 3.12:L 12
A 3.12/1:L12
A 3.14:B12
C 1.2:Ex 7/4
C 1.21:Ex 7
C 12.25:90-955
C 12.25:90-956
