    I like the idea of stapling the labels to the folders as a temporary solution. I hate those old folder labels- they always fall off! Better to keep it with the right folder using a stainless steel staple for a little while than lose the info entirely or get adhesive on the stuff inside – since sounds like you are probably going to be replacing the old folders anyway and will likely write in pencil rather than use a label. Onward! What a big job!
