Scattered pension records are available within the local government records for the 11 counties in our collection area, including blind relief, old age, and mother's pension information. Not every county has pension records available in our materials, however. Some published materials on pension records are available for use in our reading room.
Military pension records from the Revolutionary War to 1916, regardless of state of service, are kept by the National Archives and Records Administration. After 1916, they are kept by the National Personnel Record Center.
