MS-341 Tony Hall PapersIntroductionThe Tony Hall Papers, housed in Special Collections and Archives in the Wright State University Libraries, document the career of Tony Hall as both a U.S. Congressman, representing the Third District of Ohio, and as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture. Donated on September 26, 2002, with his Ambassador papers added in April 2006, the papers span the period 1959 to 2006. The bulk of the records pertain to his 24-year career as a U.S. Congressman. The papers contain voting records, congressional bills, constituent correspondence, personal correspondence, speeches, photographs, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, and research on a variety of topics. The Tony Hall Papers consist of 198 linear feet of manuscript material arranged into thirteen series: Series I: Congressional Legislation There are two level of access to the collection: Level 1: Immediate Access: Material already in the public sector (such as press releases, newsletters, floor statements and legislative research material) is available upon request. Level 2: Access After Five Years: Access to Material designated as restricted is restricted for five year. Only the Donor, Richard A. Carne, Michael D. Gessel, David M. Goldberg, Martin S. Rendon, and members of the Special Collections and Archives staff as are necessary to house, care for, preserve and administer the material may have access to restricted material. The Donor may designate or approve, in writing, any other individual access to some or all of the Material during the five year period. The five year period for Series I through XII expires September 25, 2007. The expiration date for Series XIII is March 30, 2011.
