MS – 206 Miami Valley Aero Historians Association Collection

Introduction

The Miami Valley Aero Historians Association Collection was accessioned into the Department of Archives and Special Collections in September of 1990. It was donated to the Archives by Bob Cavanagh, former member of the Miami Valley Aero Historians Association. This collection consists of cassette tapes of meetings and special speakers of the Association dating from 1962 to 1963. The records fall into two record series:

Series II: Cassette Tapes

These records are open to researchers with no exceptions.

Brief Historical Sketch

The Miami Valley Aero Historians Association was created in 1961. It was an informal organization which met in the homes of its members. There was a telephone committee whose role was to inform members of meeting dates and times. In 1963, the Central States Aero Historians Association was formed. In 1963, 1964, and 1965, dinner meetings were held. After 1965, this group became inactive.

Series Description

Series I: Programs

This series contains one copy of the program for the May 1965 meeting of the Association.

Series II: Cassette Tapes

This series contains cassette tapes of meetings of the association.
