The Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Railroad Records consist of two groups of materials. The first portion was purchased from Mrs. Howard (Renee) Latty Jr., Atlanta, Georgia, in November of 1974 and fills the first Hollinger box of the collection.
The material contained in this first box is from a scrapbook dating between 1840-1877. This scrapbook (found in the Latty family) was originated by a Mr. S.S. L'Hommedieu who was elected the second president of the railroad in 1848, two years after its charter. Newspaper clippings, circulars, documents, and business letter make up the majority of material in this portion of the collection.
