Public Records

Public records requests are requests for copies of government or university records. Special Collections and Archives has local government records for eleven counties in west central Ohio. Genealogists and other researchers should refer to the Genealogy section of our website for a description of materials available for genealogists.

Public records requests with exact citations are available for the cost of the copies plus postage. There is no charge for providing copies of public records via electronic delivery.

Public records requests without an exact citation may be subject to a research fee of $10 per half hour in addition to the cost of copies and postage.

Please note, Special Collections and Archives does not conduct general genealogy research. We are only able to search for specifically requested materials, such as a specific naturalization record, birth record, death record and the like.

To submit a public records request, please complete our online research request form.
