Changes to Library Databases for 2018/19

For the 2018/19 academic year, there have been several changes to the Libraries’ database offerings. After consultation with faculty, the Libraries cancelled the following database subscriptions for financial reasons:

  • Accessible Archives
  • Ageline (available through December 31)
  • Classical Music Library (available through October 31)
  • Compustat Research Insight
  • CQ Researcher (available through January 31, 2019)
  • Data Planet
  • Films on Demand
  • Health and Psychosocial Instruments (available through December 31)
  • ICPSR
  • IPA Source
  • ITER (available through December 31)
  • L’Annee Philologique
  • Lexis Nexis Academic (Nexis Uni)
  • Philosophers Index
  • Proquest Congressional

To offset the loss of the business and legal content in Lexis Nexis Academic and Proquest Congressional, the Libraries added two new databases, HeinOnline and Mergent Intellect, saving about $25,000.

There have also been some changes in the OhioLINK package of databases. OhioLINK cancelled its subscriptions to:

  • Ancestry Library Edition
  • Science Online
  • Statistical Abstracts of the United States

OhioLINK also added several new resources:

  • Small Business Reference Center (EBSCO)
  • Oxford Research Encyclopedias
  • Very Short Introductions (Oxford)
  • Transparent Language Online

If you have questions about any of these database changes, please contact Karen Wilhoit (karen.wilhoit@wright.edu; 775-3039) or your subject librarian.
