June 4th marked the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote in the United States. Throughout the month of June, stop by our 3rd floor book display featuring a variety of works relating to the history of the Women’s Suffrage Movement and the evolution of women’s rights and activism in the United States since the passing of the 19th Amendment.
In addition to our print collections, the University Libraries also provide access to a number of online resources supporting research in the areas of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Please visit our WGS Research Guide for more information.
While the anniversary of the passing of the amendment will happen this June, the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the amendment will take place on August 18, 2020. Look for more displays in Dunbar Library as well as events throughout campus as anniversary celebrations continue.
