Dunbar site reviewed in Journal of American History

We learned via social media today that a review of the Paul Laurence Dunbar section of the Special Collections & Archives web site has been published in the December 2015 issue of the Journal of American History, in the Digital History Reviews section.

The author, Michael P. Bibler, has many good things to say about both the web design and content itself. He praises the resource, calling it “highly accessible and will draw new and wider audiences to this important figure [Dunbar].” In his conclusion, Bibler states: “this site is an excellent resource for students, teachers, and scholars interested in Dunbar the author and the man, and in the wider histories of African American literature and culture.”

Bibler also suggests some additions to the site that he believes would be useful for study and scholarship related to Dunbar’s life and works.

You can read the full review online through the Oxford University Press database, provided by Wright State University Libraries.

Michael Bibler is an Associate Professor in the English Department at Louisiana State University. He has a particular interest in race and 19th and 20th century American literature and culture.
