The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is a benevolent and charitable organization with high moral principles seeking to aid and improve the life of good men. Much of their philosophy was to aid and protect its members, with visiting the sick, aiding the distressed, educating the orphans and burying the dead. Throughout the years they have established over 60 retirement homes for the aged and orphans throughout the United States and Canada. The collection contains minutes, membership, attendance, and financial ledger books from lodges in the Miami Valley Region.

The International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine was founded as an elected honorary society for aerospace medicine professionals in 1955. In general, the records consist of correspondence, minutes, a small quantity of financial records, a few portrait photographs of members or laureates, and a series of publications. Besides the sometimes extensive correspondence with members, the most important series is the continuous record of semi-annual meetings held between 1955 and the early 1980s.

The collection consists of the papers of three men who were active in IUE District Council 7: E. J. Kraft, Wesley Steinhilber, and Robert Elsner. Within the Kraft and Steinhilber series is material concerning the split within the UE (Union of Electrical Workers) before and after its expulsion from the CIO. There is also information about the House Un-American Activities Committee hearings in Dayton, Ohio, and reports of Communist Party influence in the UE during the late 1940s. The Elsner material consists of labor education information from the 1960s, and UE materials from the 1940s.

The Lemon Pipers achieved international recognition with their 1968 number one single "Green Tambourine."
