1. How do I get a library card?

    If you are a student or employee, your library card is your Wright1 card. With your Wright1 card you may borrow materials from Wright State & Affiliated libraries, OhioLINK, and SearchOhio. Wright State Alumni Association (Gold Members and above) also have borrowing privileges; bring your Association member card to the library. Friends of Library ($50/year membership and above), also have borrowing privileges.

  2. Who can use library resources from off campus?

    You must be a current Wright State University student or employee to use the resources remotely. Access resources through the University Libraries' website and use your campus username and password to login.

    Most of our resources can be used in the library by guests through the use of a Guest Computing Account. One-day guest accounts are available at the 1st floor Circulation Desk.

  3. I don't have a campus username and password--does the library offer Guest Computer Accounts?

    If you are a student or employee and do not know your campus username and password, contact the CaTS Helpdesk at (937) 775-4827. If you are not a Wright State student or employee, you can request a Guest Computing Account at our 1st floor Circulation Desk.

  4. Do you have textbooks?

    Your professor may choose to put required textbooks on course reserve. These books may be requested at the first floor desk. You'll need to provide the professor's name or course number and your Wright1 card to check out the book to use within the library.

    The Information Desk staff can help you to determine if your textbook is available from course reserve or OhioLINK. The Information desk is on the second floor of the library; (937) 775-2925, or chat online through Ask a Librarian.

  5. Does the library have a fax machine?

    Faxing is available at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor. Local fax numbers are $1 per page and long-distance numbers cost an extra dollar for the first page. International fax numbers are not accepted. You must wait until your fax is finished, or agree to pay the full amount in advance.

    An alternate faxing service is available at the Wright Copy Center, 181 Student Union, 8:00am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-5:00pm Friday.

  6. Does the library have scanners and copiers?

    Scanners are available on the 2nd floor in the reference area and in the Student Technology Assistance Center (STAC). Please note that STAC use is limited to Wright State students only.

    The Library has black and white copiers available on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. Color copiers are available at Wright Copy at 181 Student Union, by the Bookstore.

  7. Does the library have printers?

    Black & white and color printers are available on the 2nd floor of the library and in the 3rd floor Group and Individual Study Rooms.

    Wireless printing is available for Wright State students and employees, and guests who connect to the wireless network. A Wright1 card or Guest PrintWright Card is required for wireless printing.

  8. How do I get a print/copy card?

    Wright State students and employees use their Wright1 cards to make copies and print at the Libraries.

    If you are not affiliated with Wright State, you may borrow or purchase a Guest PrintWright Card from the 1st floor Circulation Desk. To borrow a print card, you must give a valid photo ID for the library to hold until the card is returned. To purchase a print card, the cost is $3 plus the amount for printing/copying.

  9. I forgot my Wright1 card. How can I print or make copies?

    If you are a current student or employee and do not have your Wright1 card, you can check out a guest card from the Circulation Desk with your uID. You can also use a photocopier that accepts cash on the 2nd floor in the Media room.

  10. Where can I add money to my Wright1 card?

    In Dunbar Library, you can add money to your Wright1 card in the following ways: if you have bills, there is a Deposit Station on the 2nd floor opposite the elevators; if you have cash or a credit/debit card, you can go to the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.

    You can also add money to your card online (there is a 5-10 minute delay before funds are available):

    • Log into WINGS
    • Click on the Wright1 Card Services for Students link in the lower right corner
    • Click on the link for Wright1 Card Flex Deposits
    • Follow the prompts to choose your amount and payment method

  11. Can I buy a flash drive at the library?

    Flash drives are available for purchase at our 1st floor Circulation Desk. Other storage devices including DVDs and CDs are also available.

  12. Where are the testing centers?

    Contact Testing Services in 101 Student Success Center at (937) 775-5750 for testing locations.

  13. Does the library have a lost and found area?

    There are lost and found collection points at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor and at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.

  14. Who should I contact to donate books to the library?

    Contact our Collection Development office at (937) 775-4983.

  15. How do I request a Government Document?

    If you would like to request Government Documents from our library catalog, and do not have a library card from one of the following institutions: Wright State and Affiliated Hospital Libraries, OhioLINK member institutions, The State Library of Ohio, Greene County Public Library, Washington-Centerville Public Library, or other SearchOhio Library; please send a request including the call number and title from the catalog.
